A witness to the deadly Anderson plane crash that killed everyone on board said it was "terrible." The witness, who did not want to be identified, said they saw the plane go down in flames. "It was terrible," the witness said. "I saw the plane go down in flames. It was just awful."
The plane crash happened on Monday afternoon in Anderson, South Carolina. The plane was a small, single-engine plane that was carrying four people. The plane crashed into a wooded area near the Anderson Regional Airport.
All four people on board the plane were killed in the crash. The victims have been identified as the pilot, Robert Dean, 56, of Anderson; the co-pilot, John Doe, 45, of Anderson; and two passengers, Jane Doe, 39, of Anderson, and James Doe, 41, of Anderson.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the crash.
Witness account
The witness said they were driving on a nearby road when they saw the plane go down. The witness said the plane was flying low and appeared to be in trouble.
"It was flying low and it looked like it was in trouble," the witness said. "It started to go down and then it just went into the trees."
The witness said they called 911 and then went to the crash site. The witness said they saw the plane on fire and the bodies of the victims.
"It was just awful," the witness said. "I've never seen anything like it before."
